In the massive pool of influence and digital consumption, nothing beats the IRL experience that fashion trade shows bring. Meeting buyers, displaying new collections, sourcing suppliers—all important factors to the health and success of the fashion ecosystem. The good news is there’s a fashion trade show in every corner of the world. From Europe to Africa, from America to Asia, each wholesale commerce event is tailored to specific markets, regional trends, talents, and cultures.

When deciding where to showcase their collections, fashion brands make strategic decisions to cater to a diverse audience comprising of buyers, trendsetters, fashion journalists, and stylists. Designers must consider several factors, including the proximity of the trade show to their target markets, the scale of the event itself (as larger trade shows attract more buyers and press), and the potential networking opportunities that can arise from event programming or a dedicated app for the seasonal shows.

We’ve rounded up some of the leading trade shows for brand owners and fashion professionals:

Copenhagen International Fashion Fair

The longest running bi-annual fair in northern Europe is headed into its 63rd show. After seeing attendance triple to over 17,000, the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF) announced an expansion and a showspace program this year. With the collapse of Bread & Butter and Premium, CIFF has quickly risen as the go-to show for progressive contemporary Northern European fashion; and while the beauty and fragrance categories are often omitted from other trade shows, here you can find it at CIFF.

“Though the show has three decades of history as Northern Europe’s longest running trade event, we’re able to act dynamically and in a way that speaks to the needs of today’s industry supported by the continued momentum of the fast paced growth internationally of Copenhagen Fashion Week and Scandinavian fashion more broadly.” Bright colors, cubic architecture and interpretations of nature will bring a taste of the hot and long summer days. CIFF will ooze positive energy, playfulness and creativity, bringing brands and buyers under one roof.
