Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for January 2024.
The Reds won all three of their games in January, putting four goals past each of Newcastle United, Bournemouth and Chelsea in their push to hand Klopp the Premier League title as a farewell gift at the end of this season.
This is the tenth time Klopp has been named the Manager of the Month but the first he has won since May 2021.
With ten victories to his name, Klopp moves level with David Moyes on the all-time standings, with only three managers winning the award more.
Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola sits one ahead on 11 wins, with Arsenal great Arsene Wenger second on the standings with 15 awards to his name. Leading the pack is Sir Alex Ferguson, who was named Manager of the Month no fewer than 27 times during his time with Manchester United.
Klopp reached 200 Premier League victories during January, becoming only the seventh boss to ever reach the milestone. He reached that feat in 318 games – only Guardiola (269) has ever hit it faster.
Ferguson reached 200 wins in 322 games, while it took Jose Mourinho 326 outings. Wenger needed 322.
Moyes (511) and Harry Redknapp (536) are the only other managers to record 200 Premier League wins in their careers.
At club level, Klopp is the fastest Liverpool manager to reach 200 victories in league action, beating the previous record of 355 held by the great Bob Paisley.
