Reliable smartphone leaker Ross Young from Display Supply Chain Consultants reports on both the standard and the exclusive online colors planned for Samsung’s next flagships. The Galaxy S24 colors that will be available through retailers will be black, grey, violet, and yellow. Online exclusive colors, presumably direct from Samsung’s website, will be orange, light blue, and light green.

The current retail Galaxy S23 handsets are available in black, cream, green, and lavender; with grey, green, light blue, and red available online.

The Henry Ford-esque black remains the core option for the Galaxy S24. The promotion of grey to become more widely available will be the closest to the white/silver option; black and white are generally considered the two most popular color choices for a smartphone. Lifting these both into the general retail colorways is a good call.

These colors are going to be one of the key ways that the S24 family will stand out from the S23 given the design of next year’s flagship is expected to follow the 2023 flagship closely; expect the three main lenses to be isolated on the rear of the handset and the squared-off design to remain.

What will be changing, at least for some territories, is the return of Samsung’s Exynos chipset. The Galaxy S23 family was exclusively powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset, a decision widely welcomed by the community due to its higher performance. Depending on the retail territory, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ will ship with a mix of Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Samsung is expected to launch the three new Galaxy S handsets in early 2024.
