Al Nassr squandered the opportunity to keep pace with Al Taawoun and Al Hilal at the top of the Saudi Pro League table after a disappointing 2-2 draw with Abha on Friday.
Al Nassr will enter the coming international break in third after surrendering a two-goal lead to relegation candidates Abha, with former Lyon and Villarreal forward Karl Toko Ekambi scoring a 92nd-minute equaliser to frustrate Cristiano Ronaldo and co.
Hosts Al Nassr were 2-0 up after 28 minutes thanks to goals from Otavio and Anderson Talisca, with Ronaldo unable to get his name on the scoresheet, but ultimately left Al Awwal Park disappointed.
Ronaldo will now join up with Portugal ahead of their Euro 2024 qualifiers against Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the Euro 2016 champions knowing they can book their flight to Germany by the end of October’s international break.
But when are Ronaldo and Al Nassr back in action in Saudi Arabia?
Al Nassr will return to domestic duties after the international period with a home clash against mid-table Damac on 21 October at 16:00 (BST). After throwing away two points in the draw with Abha, a win in their next home match is a necessity.
Ronaldo has to wait just three days before returning to the field once more in the yellow and blue of Al Nassr, with the Portuguese forward taking on Qatari outfit Al Duhail in the AFC Champions League. Al Nassr have beaten Iranian side Persepolis and Tajikistan’s Istiklol already to top the group after two games.
Al Nassr then return to the Saudi Pro League to face another mid-table side in Al Fayha just three days after their continental clash, a side that Ronaldo is yet to score against.

Ronaldo’s blank against Abha is only the second time he’s failed to score in the Saudi Pro League all season – the other coming in his first match of the campaign against fast starters Al Taawoun. The 38-year-old has netted ten in eight league matches, including a hat-trick against Al Fateh, while also registering five assists.
In his two ACL group stage matches so far, Ronaldo has managed just one goal. That came in a 3-1 win over Istiklol, but he failed to find the net in a 2-0 victory against Persepolis in the first group game.
Ronaldo has produced 25 goals and eight assists in his 30 Al Nassr games to date and is forging a strong partnership with ex-Liverpool star Sadio Mane up top.
