Where To Find Cyberpunk 2077’s Ken Block Tribute Car

Ken Block’s car

CDPR

This is not exactly a secret at this point, but I know a number of Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty players may not have heard it was added to the game. As of Update 2.0, CDPR has inserted a new, free car that’s a tribute to rally racer Ken Block, who died in January of 2023.

Players can grab the car as part of a micro quest in the game, but finding that quest may be the hard part, so I’ll spell it out for you.

I imagine this was on purpose, but I found the car because I was doing one of the Delamain quests that ended up taking me directly through the warehouse where it’s hidden, as I was chasing the runaway autocab. So you can either do that quest, or you can just go here on the map:

The map

It’s in a warehouse here in the dark, way in the north of the map where there are essentially no other missions, crimes, really anything up there. I think we forget there is still a decent amount of empty space on the Cyberpunk map.

The quest is just Johnny leaning on the car, and he tells you to get in. You have to find the keys to the car in a specific area, and you’ll find them in a box with the glowing orange legendary symbol on the ground under some rubble. Took me a bit to find. I forget what other items are in there, but the keys will be there. Then you get in the car, complete the quest, and it’s yours.

The car is…very good. It’s a rally-based car, so it drives better in the desert than on the street, but it’s still solid there, and very quick. It is also the only car I know of that you can get this early that actually has attached machine guns, a new feature of the 2.0 update, that spit lead out the front.

There are some cool details here. Obviously his number, 43, but also “KB 67-23,” when Block was born and when he died, killed in a tragic snowmobiling accident in January. The vehicle is also called the Type-66 “Hoon,” a reference to his racing team.

Block was a legendary rally driver, who began his career in 2005 and retired from racing in 2015. I also didn’t know this, but he was one of the co-founder of DC Shoes, the skateboarding brand I wore all through my youth.

Block meant a lot to a lot of people, and it’s very cool that CDPR put this kind of tribute into the game. Go find his ride for yourself.
