Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 16:00, Illusionist theater Mystero, (Riga, Vienības gatve 30) invites you to the performance “Crossroads of Fates…”. The show is an original project of the young actor, illusionist Dante Pecoli, dedicated to the centenary of the Italian writer Italo Calvino. Calvino is considered the most translated Italian writer of the 20th century, and his literary works can also be read in Latvian.
This time, the viewer will be introduced to the great author’s work “The Castle where destinies intersect…”, which will not be a retelling of the original work, but rather the interaction of the main theme – the analysis of people’s destinies, the mood wrapped in mysticism and the original means of expression (the use of Tarot cards in the play’s story) in a dialogue with the viewer.
The show was directed by the outstanding Italian director Gianluca Barbadori, who has staged shows in Colombia, Africa, Italy, Brazil and other countries of the world. The director’s productions always make you think, and the insights gained remain in the memory for a long time.
In this mini-show, the young actor Dante Pecolli will be in an unprecedented role – he will be the only narrator of this story, but throughout the performance he will be helped by Tarot cards, whose visual magic the audience will be able to see on a large LED screen in the depth of the stage. Will Dante put his magic skills to use? Definitely.
Theater of Illusionism/Museum Mystero introduces the audience of Latvia to the history of World and Latvian illusionism, the latest achievements in the field of illusionistic stage art, and also introduces the audience to Italian culture.

A brief outline of the show’s story: There is a castle in the middle of the forest, where people with different destinies and thought-provoking life stories meet by chance. The strangest thing is that when they enter the palace, they all lose their ability to speak…..But there is a deck of Tarot cards on the table and everyone has to tell their life without words directly with them… Is it possible? What is Dante Pecoli’s own story? What would your story be?
