Warner Music China signs Greater China’s R&B star and pioneer, Elva Hsiao, to introduce her music through WMG’s international network to a new global audience.

Warner Music China has announced the addition of Elva Hsiao to enhance its star-studded roster even further. Hsiao is one of Greater China’s most prominent stars and a pioneer of Chinese R&B. The deal will see Warner Music working to strengthen Elva’s domestic fanbase and introduce her music through its international network to new fans worldwide.

Elva has become one of the region’s most influential and dynamic singers since the launch of her music career in 1999. The first native Mandarin-speaking artist to release an R&B album into the Chinese market, Elva Hsiao, directly led to the genre’s development in the Mandarin-speaking world. She is one of the region’s biggest-selling artists, having released 16 albums with record-breaking sales.

Over the years, Elva has become one of the region’s most recognized and accomplished recording artists, having won a range of honors, including IFPI’s Top Global Chinese Album Sales Artist Award, World Music Award for the World’s Best Selling Chinese Artist, and many other prestigious Best Singer accolades.

“I am excited to be partnering with Warner Music, and I believe we’ll accomplish wonderful things together,” said Elva Hsiao. “I look forward to making great music and joining forces with the fantastic team to showcase my work to new fans from around Greater China.”

“Elva Hsiao is a unique talent who has made a significant cultural impact. She is also a megastar whose music resonates across the region. We are delighted to welcome her to the Warner Music family and feel honored that she’s entrusted us to help her continue to build her successful career,” stated Jonathan Serbin and Chris Gobalakrishna, Co-Presidents of Warner Music Asia.

“It is our pleasure to have Elva Hsiao on our distinguished roster. She is an exceptionally talented singer, and her music has a unique blend of elegance and emotion that touches the hearts of listeners,” adds Sherry Tan, Managing Director of Warner Music China. “Leveraging Warner Music’s extensive global network and expertise, we look forward to finding creative ways to help Elva reach new fans regionally and to support the next phase of her musical journey.”

Warner Music China signed Miriam Yeung to the company last year and has entered into a close partnership with many superstars across the region, cementing its position as a leading force in the global Mandarin “Mandopop” music scene.
