Ukrainian rock group “Vopļi Vidopļasova” will perform in Riga

On July 27, the Ukrainian rock band “Voppli Vidoplyasova” («Вопли Видоплясова») will perform a big concert on the stage of “Melnā Piektdiena” night club, portal balticevents.info informs.

Ukrainian rock and roll and ethno-rock group “Vopli Vidoplyasova” was formed in 1987. In the same year, the collective has become a member of the Kyiv rock club, and the musicians have also received their first special award as part of the “Rok-parad” rock festival in Kyiv.

The Ukrainian language has become an integral part of the group. The first musical works were filled with youth sarcasm, but over time everything was replaced by folklore and lyrics.

Already in 1990, “Vopļi Vidopļasova” gave concerts in France and Switzerland. It was at this time that the French newspaper “Le Monde” wrote about the musical group. After that, the group became popular outside Ukraine.

Today “VV”, as they are called by their fans, is one of the most popular Ukrainian rock bands in the world and gives more than 200 concerts a year.

The Riga concert will take place as part of the Baltic charity concert tour. Musicians will perform their best works and also present their new songs. Part of the ticket revenue will go to support Ukraine. Tickets for the big concert are available at the “Bilešu Serviss” box office.
