On June 28, the “DK Dance Theater” Latvian dance theater premiere “7R” will take place at the VEF Palace of Culture. 40 dancers aged between 5 and 50 will take part in the project, informs portal balticevents.info.
“DK Dance Theater” has been operating in Latvia for 19 years, and during its career the dancers received the Grand Prix of the World Art Association “WAPA” and regularly performed in many international competitions with new choreographies. The theater’s arsenal includes higher competition awards in Greece, Armenia, Georgia, the Arab Emirates and many European countries.
The theater traditionally puts on a new show on a big stage every year. Chief choreographer Darina Kudlayeva created the show “7R” to make the audience think about family values, respect and mutual support.
“The show ‘7R’ is a story about how seven different generations and seven different characters manifest in one person. All the participants of the show will try to reveal the theme of a multifaceted personality with their dance, because we wore and will wear masks every day,” said Kudlayeva.
Darina is a world champion in modern dance. In February, her senior group “Cats” won the “Viva Italia” international art festival in Rome, where the dancers presented their new choreography. But in March, the core team of “DK Dance” brought gold to Latvia from the Spanish choreography competition “Dance Factory”.
