in Bērzaine Town Hall on March 19 at At 15.00, the Cēsi theater collective will visit with the play “Companions”, based on the play by Mihail Rezhčikov. Director Edīte Siļkēna, scenographer Sandra Dikmane, costume designer Rudīte Liepiņa.
The play won the title of “Best Comedy” in the final of the “Play of the Year 2021” showcase of Latvian amateur theater productions, while actress Dzintra Medne won the title of “Actress of the Year” for the role of Betija Hilsa.
America, 60s. A young woman, Sharon Carr, comes to the pharmacy to buy poison and commit suicide. She has four dollars in her pocket, but the poison costs 20 dollars. Betty, the owner of the pharmacy, offers to help her earn the remaining 16 dollars.
Can money buy and sell everything? Also your life and the life of another? Can suicide be a good plot for a successful advertisement? And can we talk about it in a slightly ironic theatrical language? These are questions that will be answered in the production with a slightly black touch.
