Manchester United have previously been linked with young Spaniard Ansu Fati and now look set to try and sign him this summer.
Fati burst onto the scene a couple of years ago and looked set to be the next big thing to emerge from La Masia.
However, the forward has been beset with injury issues, which have severely impacted his minutes.
Even after his return to action, though, Fati has continued to struggle for starts under Xavi.
Fati has completed 90 minutes just once for Barcelona in the league this season and he discussed his unhappiness at a lack of game time earlier this season:
“I’m not going to lie. Yes, it’s true that I expected that I would play more,” he told Mundo Deportivo. “I want to play but I understand that the coach (Xavi) is the one who decides, and I have to give my best every day to be able to turn it around.’’
Now, as per Spanish outlet Sport, Manchester United would be in a position to spend big on Fati in the summer, but that Barca have no intention of parting with a home-grown star and would need to see the youngster to request a move in order for exit talks to be opened.
Given Fati’s openness at a lack of minutes, him requesting a move may indeed transpire in the coming months.
