Tetsu Ōkawa reported on Saturday that the Sakamoto Holidays spinoff manga of Yuuto Suzuki‘s Sakamoto Days manga is reaching its climax.

Viz Media publishes the series in English and describes the story:

Kill some time with former hit man Taro Sakamoto as he solves neighborhood crimes in this spinoff!

Sakamoto, a former legendary assassin, runs a neighborhood store in the Ikoraizaka shopping arcade, but this street lined with various stores can be a little dangerous… To protect his beloved family and enjoy his days off, Sakamoto takes on the mission of revitalizing the area to make it the most peaceful shopping arcade in town! This hilarious spinoff of Sakamoto Days is now open to the public!

Sakamoto and Shin catch a shoplifter, but the shoplifter returns with his gang to ambush them. Can Sakamoto and Shin defend themselves without spilling blood, keep Hana unaware of what’s happening, and complete the housework perfectly?

Ōkawa launched the series in Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 2024. Shueisha shipped the fourth compiled book volume on August 4. Viz Media shipped the second compiled volume on August 18.

Suzuki launched the original Sakamoto Days manga in Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in November 2020. Shueisha published the 29th compiled book volume on November 4. Suzuki published a one-shot titled “Sakamoto” in Jump Giga in December 2019.

The original Sakamoto Days manga announced in July that it is heading to its climax. The manga started its “final battle” in August 2025. The series reached 18 million copies in circulation worldwide in August.

The first season of the original manga’s anime adaptation premiered on TV Tokyo and affiliated channels on January 11, 2025, and the series also debuted on Netflix on that day. The first season’s second part premiered in July 2025. The anime’s second season will premiered in January 2027.
