Jack White’s Las Vegas concert poster doubles as a playable board game, with a 52-card deck, six wooden playing pieces, a custom wooden die, and more.
Jack White’s October 2 show at Fontainebleau Las Vegas featured a unique poster with a fun secret: it also serves as a playable board game. The 18-by-24-inch poster is the game board, and it comes with a 52-card deck, six wooden playing pieces, a custom wooden die, four additional mystery cards “for magicians only,” and a rulebook. Following the concert, Fontainebleau hosted a game night at its Azul Lounge, where fans could sit down and enjoy the game.
All 350 copies available at the show sold out immediately. The full edition includes 480 copies, some of which went on sale Friday at 10 AM PST for $150 plus shipping. If you missed out, you can find copies being resold on eBay—but they’ll run you double at $300.
Designed by Chicago-based designer Matthew Jacobson, the colorful board game serves as an homage to similar games of the 1980s, with an ’80s-style commercial for the game posted on Jack White’s Instagram. The commercial was also created by Jacobson alongside filmmaker Steve Delahoyde.
The board itself evokes the image of a record sleeve, with the game space taking players’ pieces around a vinyl record-looking path. Designed for two to six players, the game uses song-inspired cards and clues to create a fun and interactive experience for fans.
Jacobson has designed concert posters for White for more than 15 years. His previous projects with White have included poster-sized playing cards and even a collaboration with Cards Against Humanity that featured a double-sided concert poster and a custom card set dubbed “The Jack Pack.” Jacobson co-wrote those cards alongside Card Against Humanity’s own writers. In 2022, Jacobson even opened for White in Las Vegas with a magic act.
It’s the latest unique physical project from Jack White, who has a history of releasing unusual merch and elaborate packaging. In fact, the musician’s relationship with physical memorabilia has made him one of the biggest players in vinyl record production in the country since the resurgence in the medium almost two decades ago.
