WMG
On the heels of a shakeup at Warner Chappell, including the departure of co-chair Carianne Marshall, Warner Music Group has unveiled a sweeping leadership reorganization on the recorded side.
Val Blavatnik, having joined the major’s board back in 2023, has signed on as MD of WM North America, UK, and corporate development. Meanwhile, Alejandro Duque, who’s served as WM Latin America’s president since 2021, is now president of WM International.
Warner Records Group co-chair and CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck, for his part, has become the division’s sole chair following the late-July promotion of Tom Corson to COO of WMG.
Next, the purview of Atlantic Music Group’s leadership team is expanding to also include the Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA), which underwent “a major strategic expansion” in July.
Consequently, AMG chair and CEO Elliot Grainge has been enlisted to simultaneously serve as ADA’s chair, with fellow 10K vet Zach Friedman, currently AMG’s COO, stepping in as ADA’s vice chair.
Finally, WM Iberia president Guillermo Gonzalez has been promoted to the same position at WM EMEA; Andrés Rothschild, most recently WM Iberia’s finance VP, will assume the newly vacated post.
And multi-decade WMG exec Simon Robson, who’s been EMEA president since October 2024, will exit the company in December.
CSDEM
The Chambre Syndicale de l’Édition Musicale (CSDEM) has announced its 2026-28 board and 2026-27 leadership team.
Beginning with the latter, Encore Merci’s Juliette Metz is president; Budde Music GM Cécile Bernier, Sony Music Publishing France GM Jean-Christophe Bourgeois, longtime Peermusic France exec Bruno Lion, and Musigamy founder Philippe Manivet are VPs; Upton Park owner Julien Banes is secretary, with Kobalt France MD Stéphane Berlow aboard as assistant secretary; and Melmax creative manager Philippe Daniel is treasurer alongside French Flair owner Nicolas Voskoboinikoff as assistant treasurer.
Those professionals are also serving on CSDEM’s board with D6 France director David Bossan; SMP France MD Antoine Dathanat; Peermusic legal exec Matthieu Chabaud; Wagram head Catherine Cuny; 22D Music CEO Emmanuel Deletang; Editions Raoul Breton’s Pacôme Descamps; Wise Music France MD Thomas Jamois; and BMG France co-GM Laurent Pernin.
SOCAN
SOCAN’s Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency (CMRRA) has announced Veronica Syrtash, part of the team for over 27 years, as its first chief business officer, reproduction rights; Paul Shaver, CMRRA’s president since 2019, will step down on October 1st.
ASCAP
On January 1st, 12-year ASCAP vet Jackson Wagener, currently SVP of business and legal affairs, will begin as SVP and head of general licensing.
Additionally, BMG’s president of global publishing, Jim Selby, has been elected to ASCAP’s board as a publisher member.
Epidemic Group
About three months after acquiring Blenda Labs, Epidemic Group has tapped the video production company’s founder, Erik Wahlberg, to serve as CEO effective October 1st.
Interim CEO Sara Börsvik, for her part, is transitioning to COO and CFO.
Korea Venture Business Association
The Korea Venture Business Association has added six executive members: Four vice chairs (Hybe CEO Lee Jae-sang; LB Investment CEO Park Ki-ho; Geumyong Machinery CEO Lee Jun-hyeok; and Musicow chair Jung Hyun-kyung) and two directors (AI legal platform LBox’s CEO, Lee Jin, and TUgether CEO Seo Jae-won).
TEG
Cameron Hoy-led Ticketek Entertainment Group has elevated Mark Dodds to MD of TEG Live and Handsome Tours; longtime higher-up Tim McGregor, most recently global head of touring, is exiting the company and plans on “taking a proper break before stepping into what comes next.”
Additionally, TEG Dainty CEO Paul Dainty is officially TEG’s first president of touring and theatrical.
Partisan + OTM
Now OTM’s majority owner, Partisan Music has combined the publisher with its own publishing division, Left Music; OTM founder Alex Sheridan will serve as CEO of the combined operation, with A&R head Kate Sweetsur remaining aboard and Left founder Craig Michie in place as president and head of North America.
Dolly Parton Estate
Parton’s nephew Bryan Seaver, who announced the Queen of Country’s passing and served as her head of security for over two decades, has been abruptly dismissed from the post after allegedly targeting the estate with a “campaign of threats, intimidation, and coercion.”
