ElevenLabs announces the launch of Composer, a section-by-section song editor, in its AI song-generating platform ElevenMusic.

Today, ElevenLabs announced the launch of Composer, a section-by-section song editor in ElevenMusic, the generative AI music platform the company launched earlier this year. Users can start with their own lyrics or track, a prompt, or a blank slate to shape their tracks piece by piece with the help of artificial intelligence.

“Artists and creatives can now easily rewrite a verse, change the chorus, slow down the bridge, or generate multiple versions, keeping what works without altering the rest,” said a spokesperson for ElevenLabs. “Essentially, this tool allows artists to edit a song as easily as they would edit a document.”

The company says it built the tool in collaboration with “some of the world’s best producers” to match their actual workflow. Composer lets users edit and regenerate individual sections of a track without interfering with other aspects. Lyrics can be added or rewritten to any section at any point in the process, and Composer generates multiple takes of a section so users can “audition” them side by side. Creators can rearrange their song’s structure by swapping, doubling, or extending sections as it develops.

“Music rarely comes together in one take. You might like the verse, but you want a different chorus, or you have the right melody but need to change the lyrics,” writes ElevenLabs. “Composer lets you work on those decisions individually. Each section of your track can be edited and regenerated without changing the rest. Adjust the style, tempo, energy, instrumentation, key, or duration of the section you are working on while keeping everything else in place.”

Composer gives users control over the structure of the overall composition, enabling them to swap the bridge, double the chorus, add an outro, and rearrange things across the track piece by piece.

The news follows ElevenLabs topping $500 million in annual revenue earlier this year as the company welcomed new investors like actor Jamie Foxx, actress Eva Longoria, “Squid Game” creator Hwang Dong-hyuk, and the world’s largest investment manager BlackRock Inc. in its Series D funding round. The milestone positions ElevenLabs closer to its biggest rivals, Suno and Udio. Funding was first announced in February at an $11 billion valuation.
