Disney+ announced on July 31 that it has released a three-episode prequel webtoon for its live-action series Made in Korea on Kakao Page.

Set in the turbulent 1970s, Made in Korea follows Ki-tae Baek (Hyun Bin), a Central Intelligence Agency agent who leads a double life as a smuggler at night, and prosecutor Geon-young Jang (Woo-sung Jung), who becomes determined to stop him.

The upcoming second season, scheduled to debut on September 9, takes place nine years later and follows Baek as he pursues greater ambitions.

The webtoon bridges the two seasons, depicting events from the nine-year period that led Baek toward the center of power. It also explores changes and shifting relationships among key characters whose stories are not fully covered in the two seasons.

The webtoon features artist Lee Mugi, creator of the webtoon I Am a Sinner, which will itself receive a Disney+ series adaptation next year.

Currently an English version of the webtoon is not available. The live-action series is available on Hulu.
