Stage Tour, the new rhythm game being created as a spiritual successor to Guitar Hero and Rock Band, will feature a slew of artists revealed over the weekend.
Stage Tour, the new rhythm game in development from RedOctane Games and envisioned as a spiritual successor to Guitar Hero and Rock Band, is being worked on by several veterans of rhythm game franchises. But the game won’t be limited to guitars; a new drum peripheral and microphone support have also been confirmed, alongside a slew of artists revealed to be participating.
A new Kramer-modeled guitar peripheral created for the game was unveiled to the public at the 2026 IGN Live event over the weekend. Created in partnership with Gibson, Kramer, Epiphone, and Mesa Boogie, various branded instruments and equipment will be featured in the game.
Among the confirmed songs were “Dani California” from Red Hot Chili Peppers, “Island in the Sun” from Weezer, “Square Hammer” from Ghost, “Get the Funk Out” from Extreme, and “RATATATA,” a recent collaboration between BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy. They join the aforementioned tracks “Terminator Oscillator” by Static-X and Good Kid’s “Mimi’s Delivery Service.”
Further announcements regarding the song list remain pending. The game will also include “roguelite elements” in its campaign mode to drive more replayability, while multiplayer support was also recently shown off. The game is expected to be released on consoles and PC this fall.
“I’ve bought and loved many of these games, and never once did I give a shit about the character skins, stage location, or places like a digital ‘Gibson garage,’” commented one fan, who seemed skeptical of the additional features thus far revealed. “Have a great soundtrack and solid peripherals; this isn’t rocket science.”
Well, it seems like the game is on its way to having a great soundtrack and solid peripherals, based on the partnerships announced. It will be interesting to see the full track list once more information is available.
