A former Angus cattle breeder has pleaded not guilty to more than a dozen fraud offences more than five years after his arrest.
Corey Ireland ran the Irelands Angus stud in Kyeamba, south of Wagga Wagga, when police carried out a raid on his property in December 2019.
The 50-year-old was arrested in April 2020 and charged with a total of 16 counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception in 2020 and 2023.
Mr Ireland is accused of selling and trading cattle that did not exist or had died prior to sale.
He pleaded not guilty to the offences during a brief arraignment hearing in the New South Wales District Court in Sydney on Friday.
Judge Stephen Hanley set a date for a readiness hearing in November.
A trial date is expected to be decided on in April 2026.
