As the business sector transitions away from cash and paper invoicing, how are today’s organizations redefining their payment processes?
In June 2024 American Express partnered with Forbes Insights to commission a survey of 505 leaders from U.S. companies with annual revenue of at least $300 million to uncover how they’re responding to the transforming landscape of business-to-business (B2B) payments. Their perspectives present a data-powered forecast of what’s in store for business payments and how leaders representing industries from finance to healthcare to retail are navigating change.

Methodology: This survey was commissioned by American Express and conducted online by Forbes Insights in June 2024. Forbes Insights surveyed 505 U.S.-based business leaders across the financial services, technology & software, manufacturing & industrial chemicals, construction, automotive, food and beverage, healthcare & pharmaceuticals, consulting & accounting, e-commerce, entertainment & events, hospitality & travel, publishing & media, retail, nonprofit and telecom sectors. The interviews were conducted online between June 7th, 2024 and July 9th, 2024. Sixty percent of respondents were C-suite executives. All respondents represent organizations with at least $300 million in annual revenue and 60% are from organizations with an annual revenue of over $1 billion.
